Embassy Suites - MauiIf going to Hawaii and you have kids, I suggest staying at the Embassy Suites in Maui. This hotel was perfect because it has two rooms (instead of a one room hotel) and our son could take his nap in the bedroom without being disturbed. This hotel also had a nice kids pool and beach. They had a happy hour each night with free drinks and snacks which was a bonus. They had a nanny service which we used one day in order to take a snorkel excursion. The hotel is also a time share unit and normally I would never recommend signing up for a tour but we did because they offered $400 in meal vouchers good around the entire island. It took about two hours and involved a little high pressure but we received the vouchers and surprisingly they were gladly accepted and treated like cash at many restaurants as promised which saved us a lot of $$ on meals. we stayed 3 nights at the Maui Hilton at a significant increase in price over the Embassy and regretted it. We were gouged on everything possible (for example: they charge $15 per day for the gym even if you don't use it) and the room was no where near as nice. |
