Located less than 3 miles from Sea World and 10 miles from Disney World the Horizons by Marriott is a great place for a family vacation in Orlando. The kids (10 and 13) spent hours in one of the two pools while mom and dad sat quietly in one of several jacuzzis. I recommend breakfast at the Horizons Harborside Bar & Grill. The prices are reasonable and the food was plentiful and tasty. Except for the construction of new buildings to the north, the grounds were lush and beautiful. Each room includes a back porch that is completely screened in so the bugs won't join you.

If going to Hawaii and you have kids, I suggest staying at the Embassy Suites in Maui. This hotel was perfect because it has two rooms (instead of a one room hotel) and our son could take his nap in the bedroom without being disturbed. This hotel also had a nice kids pool and beach. They had a happy hour each night with free drinks and snacks which was a bonus. They had a nanny service which we used one day in order to take a snorkel excursion.
